Christmas greeting from Hal Short, President UCB International
As this is the last Global newsletter for the year, let me wish each of you the Lord’s blessing as you celebrate His birth.
While each year brings its challenge, with the global economy still in a state of flux, it’s been tougher than usual staying afloat for a number of the UCB affiliates. However, as I reminded staff at one of our affiliates recently, this has been a good year from the Lord’s perspective. As I hear the many testimonies from around the group, I am reminded that He is at work through us to fulfill His purposes and in that we can rejoice. So as we head into 2011, remember His hand on us and let us expect great things. Thank you for your part in reaching your community for Christ & may the Lord bless you this advent season.

He joined the Royal Australian Air Force in 1968, where he gained considerable experience in Community Radio at Radio RAAF Butterworth, Malaysia. He was appointed to the rank of Squadron Leader to be Officer-in-Charge, in 1979.Media Trends with Dick Jenkins

Harvard Business School Study The Internet is the dominant source for news according to this study by Harvard University. Something that should be considered when allocating future efforts on radio news. The key for radio is news PLUS personalities. Ratings show that news stations do much better ratings wise when the station has “personalities” doing the news that connect with the audience.
